The Languedoc

The coastline of the Languedoc consists of beautiful sunny sandy beaches. Well worth a visit is the town of Montpellier, with its historic centre, Agde, the port of Sète, the Etang de Thau, a lake known for its shellfish cultivation, the town of Béziers with its nine locks in the Canal du Midi, the Roman Oppidum, the regional park of the Haut Languedoc or Carcassonne, a medieval fortified town.
